Eddie Murphy is returning to some iconic roles, one’s that boosted his comedic movie career in the late ’80s and early ’90s. Murphy is already returning to one of his most famous roles, by starring in a sequel to his classic 1988 comedy ‘Coming to America’. Now he has revealed his next project will be a ‘Beverly Hills Cop 4’ movie. In an interview with US website Collider, Murphy said, “Yeah that’s what we’re doing after Coming to America 2, we’re doing Beverly Hills Cop and then the plan is to get back on stage and do stand-up.”

For all of you that don’t remember Beverly Hills Cop, the franchise began in 1984, with the third film released in 1994. Murphy plays Axel Foley, a Detroit cop who, in the original film, travelled to California
to hunt down his friend’s murderer. In addition to all of this, Eddie Murphy has also signed a deal with Netflix to perform stand-up specials. Murphy is also set to host Saturday Night Live, on which he was a cast member from 1980 to 1984. In the interview with Collider, Murphy also stated his plan is to revisit some of the highlights of his early career, in case he wants to retire for good. “That’s what I’ll be doing mostly is standup,” he said. “These movies and Saturday Night Live it’s kind of like … I’m looking at it as a book-end. “If I decided I wanted to stay on the couch forever, I ended it on a funny note.”

Is it true about Eddie Murphy? He was on the Jimmy Kimmel show I guess. Apparently he’s returning to stand up comedy! And i think he’s going to do SNL as well? Never thought I’d see that happen!
