It has been revealed that Taron Egerton has been tipped to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine by a high-profile writer from the Marvel Studios. Jackman said goodbye to the Marvel character with 2017’s Logan, ending a tenure as the superhero that dated back to 2000’s X-Men. Comic writer Mark Millar, who has previously worked for both Marvel and DC, made the prediction on Twitter.

Previously, Millar has written the Kick-Ass and Kingsman comics, and recently he was tweeted by a fan who reminded the writer he had correctly predicted the future twice in one of his comics. In response, Millar said, “Always remember I’m never wrong. PS Taron Egerton will be the next Wolverine.”

Egerton and Millar have a prior connection, as the actor took up the role of Gary ‘Eggsy’ Unwin in Kingsman: The Secret Service and its sequel Kingsman: The Golden Circle. Millar also served as an executive producer in the movies.

The news about Egerton becoming the next Wolverine had been out there for quite a while now, and it was so strong that the actor himself addressed them in an interview with Heart Breakfast, saying, “That one, I think, is just a rumor. As far as I’m aware it’s unfounded. I don’t know if I’m quite grisly enough. I mean, if the people at Marvel think I am, then great, let’s go. But I think there are better candidates. But I would love to be involved with that world somewhere.”

Here’s how Taron Egerton could look like as Hugh Jackman’s replacement for Wolverine.
