Get on this one, gang: the team behind Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead are back with a bigger, bloodier, ballsier horror comedy which is essentially a kind of Ghostbusters-meets-Evil-Dead-2 dealio: Nekrotronic.

Starring Ben O’Toole, Monica Bellucci, Caroline Ford, Tess Haubrich, Bob Savea and David Wenham, the furiously funny flick sees a workaday waste management grunt (O’Toole) yanked out of his humdrum life and into a world of dastardly demons and high-tech sorcery when he’s recruited by a team of bad-ass necromancers (Wenham, Ford, and Haubrich – and really, has she not been declared Australia;s genre queen yet?) to battle the evil Finnegan (Bellucci, no stranger to the occult thanks to her turns in Bram Stoker’s Dracula and Brotherhood of the Wolf). And we proceed from there.

That’s the good news. The bad news is that Perth is getting ONE! SCREENING! ONLY! This Saturday, September 14, at The Backlot from 6pm. Yes, we do tend to get the short end of the stick on this sort of thing but a) the bloody thing is on at least, and b) director Kiah Roache-Turner is skyping in for a Q&A to be hosted by Aaron McCann. Aaron, by the way, co-wrote and co-directed Top Knot Detective, which I am in. Don;t hold it against him.

Anyhoo, the Backlot being a deluxe but small little set up, there are only 50 tickets in total, which are moving fast – you can snap up a couple via this link right here if you’re lucky. If not, well, it’s your own damn fault.

Nekrotronic is in Perth cinemas NEVER. This is your shot. Don’t blow it.
