For those who came in late:

“THE BOYS is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and their formidable Vought backing.”

This is, of course, based on the insanely violent and gleefully offensive comic by Garth Ennis and Darrick Robertson, and is brought to us by more or less the same team who put together the (rubbish) Preacher TV series. Happily, The Boys is not rubbish – I’ve copped the first three episodes, and it’s a good time, albeit notably less OTT than its source material.

Starring Karl Urban, Elisabeth Shue, Jack Quaid, and Erin Moriarty, The Boys drops on July 26, 2019.
